Fitness enthusiast and reviewer from Madrid

The Short Version

I go by Lucia Gomez, based in Madrid, and for several years I have chronicled my experiences at fitness clubs across Spain.

This site was born from frustration with selecting gyms based on ads and vague suggestions, only to learn the reality didn’t match expectations. I wanted clear, honest details about what these places were truly like. When such info wasn’t available, I chose to build it.

More than a dozen Gyms Visited
A few Years Active
Over 200 Classes Attended

How This Started

My workout routine began at a modest club near Calle de la Salud in Madrid. It wasn’t flawless, yet it was accessible, affordable, and it helped me stay consistent.

After that place closed, I noticed how quickly the fitness scene in Spain was evolving. New clubs opened, new concepts appeared, and marketing became louder than real member experience.

I tried various gyms and classes, jotting notes after each visit. Eventually those notes evolved into this site, created to help others make better-informed choices.

My Approach to Reviews

Every review here comes from actual visits and time spent inside the facility. I focus on practical details that matter when you are choosing a membership.

When I review a fitness center, I typically:

  • dedicate sufficient time to understand routines, peak times, and trends
  • visit across various days and times
  • test multiple training formats and instructors
  • use amenities regularly to gauge cleanliness and comfort
  • talk with other members about consistency and gaps
  • note observations right after each visit

I revise reviews when significant changes occur: renovations, changes in management, price changes, or new facilities. Each piece indicates its last update date so you can judge how current the information remains.

What I Look For

My priorities may differ from yours, so here is what matters most to me when assessing a gym:

Comfort and Privacy: Does the space feel genuinely well-designed for members, with respectful boundaries and a calm atmosphere?

Equipment Quality: Are machines well-maintained? Is there enough variety? Do things get fixed promptly?

Crowd Management: Can you actually train during your preferred time without waiting constantly?

Clean Facilities: Locker rooms, showers, floors, and equipment surfaces. Cleanliness shows how seriously management treats the member experience.

Honest Membership Practices: Clear pricing, clear rules, and no unpleasant surprises.

Beyond the Gym

Besides training and writing, I live in Madrid and work there. This project aims to simplify fitness decisions and make the environment clearer for those seeking the right setting.
